GREEN BEANS AND MORE:

A very talented chef showed me how to greatly enhance “green beans” …. for breakfast, no less!

Saute, roast, broil, grill or cook Green Beans … removing them while still crunchy. Quickly run through cold water to stop the cooking.  Just before serving, heat, stir in Olive Oil (or butter), salt, pepper and the final addition:  sprinkle with Lemon Juice.  The lemon juice perks up this dish …. delicious!  Repeat this process with asparagus and other vegetables.

LORRI’S SHAKES

Almost all of my Protein Shakes will include 1-2 Tablespoons of Lemon Juice.  It just “perks up” the shakes …. it does to shakes what salt does to soup! I purchase organic lemon juice from Costco and go through it quickly!

FROZEN BANANAS

I use bananas in my shakes a lot.  I buy them in bulk, peel them, cut them into chunks, toss them into a plastic bag, squirt in lemon juice to prevent browning & for flavor, mix it to coat fruit, flatten it out and put it in the freezer.  I pull off about 2-3 chunks and add to my shakes.  I NEVER RUN OUT OF BANANAS!

FRUIT WATER

I like to add various fruit to infuse water and lemon slices will generally be added to the mix.  Orange slices are also great.  I grow peppermint and lavender in the summer and like to crush the leaves some and add to the lemon fruit water.
